This enlargement occurs over time as downward pressure increases in the bowels either through pregnancy, stress, straining, constipation, sedentary lifestyle, etc. Internal hemorrhoids may be as small as a kernel of wheat, or as large as a lemon. Hemorrhoids may or may not bleed, and may give sensations of pressure, feeling of fullness, and incomplete evacuation of bowels, among others.
